Images of Support

Down to the Wire

Kona sign wavers are so dedicated. Their efforts for McCain -Palin deserve a huge congratulations.

Great Opinion Piece!
McCain Oahu's super sign waver, delegate to the RNC and Honolulu attorney, Adrienne King wrote an excellent op ed in the Thursday, Oct. 30 Honolulu Advertiser. Click here to read.

The River of Life Mission Walk showed that the McCain-Palin team believes in helping our neighbors. Rainy but enthusiastic!

Here's awesome news. Oahu had 52 sign-wavers fronting the mauka side of the Capitol on Beretania yesterday from 4p-6p. It was a chicken skin sight, almost a full city block of enthusiastic volunteers. Jan McKinney has done an outstanding job organizing the groups in communities across Oahu every day through the election. We have several more sign-waving events today in Kapolei, Mililani and the big one downtown on Ward and King Streets.

Obama on Ellen Degeneres: I Dance better than McCain.

Reuters Oct. 21, 2008 reports

MIAMI - One thing Barack Obama does know — he can beat his Republican rival John McCain in a dancing contest. In an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show via satellite from Miami, Obama stood before a crowd of cheering supporters and showed off his dance moves to James Brown’s big hit Get Up Offa That Thing.

But I’m convinced I’m a better dancer than John McCain, he said about his 72-year-old rival in the race for the White House.

__________________________

That's probably true. But that’s because, unlike John McCain, Barack Obama has never learned the ropes.

7-year Hanoi POW Jerry Coffee explains the ropes torture he, McCain and other U.S. prisoners survived in North Vietnam’s Hoa Lo prison:

You’re sitting on the floor with your feet locked in an iron shackle. They (the Communist interrogators) tie your arms tightly behind you above the elbows. The long rope then is thrown over the front of your shoulders and tied to your ankles. Next, the guard pushes his foot into your back to cinch the rope so tightly that finally your ears are between your feet. The cartilage in your chest rips apart, your shoulders dislocate, and the circulation is cut off. Next, the rope is thrown over a big hook on the ceiling and you’re hoisted up where you hang like a tether ball for as long as they want you there. This doesn’t help your unhealed broken arms and legs. Ironically, the pain isn’t over after you’re finally cut down. When the blood starts to flow into your extremities, it’s excruciating. You can’t hold your spoon for days after.

Bad dancer John McCain learned the ropes after his ejection from a burning jet.

After he survived North Vietnamese doctors trying unsuccessfully to set one of his two shattered arms for 90 minutes …without anesthesia. After he survived both arms having to set themselves – at odd angles – in a filthy cell – in solitary. After he survived surgery on his shattered knee, during which - come to find out - the Communist docs had cut all the ligaments and cartilage.

Bad dancer John McCain learned the ropes after he survived a shoulder socket smashed beyond repair by a rifle butt. After he said No to early release. No to signing a propaganda statement. No to co-operating.

After learning the ropes bad dancer John McCain survived rehab on knees long frozen at a 5 degree flex and survived 8 months, two hours a day of manipulation mobilization therapy – without anesthesia - till they finally bent 90 degrees.

Being a better dancer than John McCain wouldn’t be much to boast about if Barack Obama were to ever learn the ropes.

Obama Ties to Acorn

Courtesy of G Rethman Report:

"The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree...." These are Obama's own words at a rally a few days ago. Just another slip of the tongue from the junior Senator from Illinois?? Obama's ties to ACORN are a hot topic in recent days and the more you look the more you see. In fact, I think I've found something I agree with Obama on - the ACORN truly doesn't fall far from the tree! Here are Obama's ties to that radical, subversive group .... ACORN.

Funny thing - Obama's own website is actually lying about his involvement with this group. What a surprise. Read on ...

Can the ACORN story, Ayers, Rezko & Wright be enough for McCain to win this election? If the stock market stabilizes (it was up over 900 points today) Dick Morris thinks so. He's hardly ever wrong.

And considering what we know about Obama's lack of truthfulness regarding his involvement with ACORN, is it possible that he's received illegal campaign contributions? You decide:

Obama's Past Needs a Future

Bill Ayers: donor, mentor, bomber.

Ayers didn't just bomb once. He was quite a prolific bomber. Don't we miss the 70s? They may be back if we don't get McCain elected. Get the word out.

"Barack Obama has said that in no other country is his story even possible. Isn't that the truth! In what other country could a man who began his political career in the home of a terrorist rise to be on the edge of being elected the President. Shedding LIght on the Radical Left & Obama

"He's so far to the left, it's impossible for him to reach across the isle." John McCain, Sept. 26 debate.

As everyone knows Barack Obama is not a moderate as he now tries to portray himself. If you read this article Barack Obama and the Strategy it will put Obama's liberal roots into perspective and answer so many of the questions about him we can't get answers to from our liberal media. This is a MUST READ. It will frustrate and infuriate you, but hopefully you'll send it to everyone you know asap. Also, if you want to make a difference, write letters to the editor using this info to all major and local small town newspapers in the battle ground states, plus USA Today, Time, Newsweek, and other major publications.

McCain "Kokua" Campaign Kick off

John McCain calls upon us to "dedicate our lives to a cause greater than self." He has been an inspiring example of this philosophy. In keeping with this call, his Hawaii supporters announce the John McCain "Kokua" Campaign. It is the anti big money, big lavish party, big influence of donors approach to politics. It is in stark contrast to the way McCain's opponent chooses to spend his time in our islands, but it fits into McCain's belief in honoring commitments to our country, our state and the people who have to work hard to make ends meet in Hawaii's over taxed environment, with skyrocketing costs for energy, food, and doing business. He honored his pledge to take public funding and promise not to be in the pocket of any special interest. Obama went back on his promise only to rake in more in special interest $$$s.

The Kokua Campaign is one of community service, giving back to Hawaii. John McCain's supporters, many retired veterans, get just what that means, because they've lived kokua - helping in unselfish ways. Join our Kokua campaign for John McCain - promising no personal gain but to make a difference in the land we love.

Quote of the Day

"From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a
United State Senator, to the
time he announced he was
forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he
logged 143
days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the

Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days
of work
experience, Obama believed he was ready to be
Commander In Chief, Leader
of the Free World, and fill
the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and
Ronald Reagan.
143 days.

I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that."

Cindy McCain's life time of humanitarian work

Cindy McCain In Service to Others ...

Cindy McCain has long been an advocate for children everywhere and for their health care needs in particular. She founded and ran the American Voluntary Medical Team (AVMT) from 1988-1995. AVMT provided emergency medical surgical care to impoverished children throughout the world. Cindy led 55 medical missions to third world and war-torn countries during AVMT's seven years of existence. In recent years, Cindy has dedicated the bulk of her volunteer time to three international organizations; The HALO Trust, Operation Smile and CARE.

Veterans for McCain Rate Own Web Site.

John McCain is dedicated to the security of our nation. He will not foolishly diminish our defense capabilities nor will he forsake our men and women who serve us now in far flung spots around the globe and those who valiantly served in previous wars.

He is by far the only presidential candidate who can be trusted to represent the honorable values of our United States military. Courage, honor, commitment - tenets of our fighting men and women in uniform. Send this new dedicated Veterans for McCain web site to every veteran you know, because they "get" the urgency of electing John McCain, Commander-in-Chief.
Veterans.JohnMcCain.com

And remember to donate to John McCain. It's urgent. He needs your support more than ever now, before September 4 when public funding eliminates any further campaign donations directly to his campaign. You can still donate to the Republican Party after that date, but he needs funds now to get his message out. Obama went back on his promise to take public funding, but not McCain, a man who believes your word is your honor.

Obama on Missile Defense, etc.

In Barrack Obama's own words, his defense proposals if he were President could leave Hawaii in a very vulnerable position. We are within striking distance of North Korea which has developed weapons that can reach our islands.

What would this do for the Pacific Missile Defense Range (Kauai Missile shoot Down Test Successful) at Barking Sands on Kauai?

Guess.

Articles, Op Eds, and Letters to the Editor

Now is the time to start sharing John McCain's story of lifelong service and sacrifice with those who need some convincing. Letters to the Editor of both dailies will help get the message out.

Did you know that John and Cindy McCain met in Hawaii? That story and more are in his book
Faith of My Fathers, a good read. The story was made into an excellent movie by the same name that aired last year on television. John mentions both Jerry Coffee and Orson Swindle in one scene in the film.

Pick up
John McCain - an American Odyssey by award-winning Washington journalist, Robert Timberg, Marine Vietnam wounded veteran, Naval Academy graduate and former White House correspondent. It will underscore why McCain's understanding of enemies who seek to destroy our nation, his toughness, straight talk, and his independence combine to make him the right man for the times.

Also check out MidWeek's Coffee Break by Jerry Coffee.
His articles about his friend and Vietnam cell mate, John McCain, are both personal and practical. For a woman's view on McCain, go to MidWeek's Susan's Page "It's Not a Presidential Pageant." column.

Hawaii Democrats Helping Nevada

Let them go ...

Honolulu Star-Bulletin reported this week that Isle Dems are so sure of an Obama landslide in Hawaii they're headed to Nevada to help him win there. We say GREAT, GO! John McCain and his supporters are committed to helping bring to Hawaii - not another state - the kind of "change " that only a man of John McCain's background, leadership and experience can bring both here and to our nation.

Komo Mai & Aloha...

Welcome, and thank you for joining us on the John McCain Victory Hawaii 2008 blog site. Susan and I are pleased and proud to host this site on behalf of our friend, Senator John McCain, the next President of the United States.
Although it was apparent even back in
Hanoi that P.O.W. Lcdr. John McCain was an extraordinary man of principle and courage, I couldn't have guessed he would someday be the President of the United States of America. During some of our quiet, late night talks, when most of our comrades were snoozing beneath their mosquito nets, we would reminisce about our youth and earlier careers, forming a bond of friendship and loyalty that only shared adversity can bring. John McCain is one of the few men who has used up more of his 9 lives than I have.
John McCain has spent literally two careers (over 40 years) in the service of our country, militarily and politically. And as we see his hard work and dedication to his campaign, overcoming tremendous odds to be so close today, it is the very least we can do in dedicating our own energy and priorities these next few months to ensure his (and our) victory.
In these particularly perilous times, for the sake of America and of our children and their progeny, John McCain MUST win. Please join us in helping him do it.
Please join us: Ho'olu komo la kaua!
Warmest Aloha!
Jerry
